They have the extraordinary ability to fly at high speed which ends up resulting in the humming sound created by their beating wings, and that’s where they got their namesake.

Let’s have fun and unleash our hidden artistic skills!
How to Draw a Hummingbird — Let’s get started!
Step 1 — let’s begin withdrawing the Hummingbird’s bill
Begin on the right area of your sheet, and draw an extensive, slim pointed shape to replicate the hummingbird’s bill.
One of the most unique features of a hummingbird is its extended, pointed bill. It is the beak that works as a protective sheath for its tongue, which is what the hummingbird employs to collect nectar from a flower.
Step 2 — Draw the Crown of the Hummingbird
The crown is the top of the head of the hummingbird. Outline the top of the head of the hummingbird by making a curved line starting from the top of its bill.
When made correctly, the line should be a downward slope, as shown in the image.
Step 3 — Complete the Outline of the Hummingbird’s Head
Now make the chin of your hummingbird by making a downward line extending from the bottom of the beak.
Step 4 — Now, Draw the fluffy chunks of feather near the chin
We will add below the outline of our hummingbird’s head multiple linked curved lines at the bottom that will structure fluffy chunks of feather.
Draw a downward curved line starting below the hummingbird’s neck. Then, repeat the same steps until the outline extends all the way to its neck.
Step 5 — Next, Draw One of the Hummingbird’s Wings
In this step, we will draw one of the Hummingbird’s wings. For this, make a straight upward diagonal line extending from the crown of the hummingbird. Then, draw multiple side-by-side zig-zag curves that will structure the feathers on the side part of the wing.
Step 6 — Add some details to the wing
As shown in the reference image, we will add some details to the wing part. Draw a curved line that will be slightly tilted in the middle, in the lower middle portion of the wing connecting to the outlines of the wing.
Step 7 — Add more details to the wings
In this step, we will add more details to the wing to complete its look. Here, you will draw multiple side-by-side lines starting from the curve that we have drawn in our previous step of this guide to create feathers on the upper part of the wing.
Step 8 — Now, Draw the Chest and the tail of the Hummingbird
Make a downward curved line extending below the hummingbird’s chin. Then, extend the curved line all the way down to create its tail.
Step 9 — Now finalize your drawing by adding final details to it.
Here we will add all the remaining details to complete our Hummingbird drawing. Add outward curved lines to the belly portion and in the tail portion you need to draw a line with a curved tip starting from the bottom of the body of your hummingbird.
Create the tail emerging from the endpoint of the hummingbird’s body. The tail can be drawn by simply drawing multiple overlapping pointed shapes until you get the desired shape.
Step 10 — Finish off your drawing by filling in pretty colors to it
Hummingbirds are colorful birds. They can be seen in more than one color and they exist in a broad range of vibrant color combinations.
So color your drawing with any shade of your choice and make your drawing more beautiful and vibrant.
