Architectural buildings are a popular theme in many artworks, including drawings. The key to drawing a structure or a house is understanding how to sketch its major characteristics, such as the stairs.
For your convenience, we have produced a step-by-step guide on designing stairs. This tutorial has nine straightforward directions with accompanying drawings to act as a visual aid as you follow each step sequentially. Have fun and be creative when drawing staircases!
Step By Step Guide On How To Draw Stairs
Draw an irregular line as shown in the reference image to make an outline.
Draw a zig-zag pattern coming in the bottom side as shown in the image to make it look realistic.
On the right side, draw lines to make the complete outline of stairs, as shown in the reference picture.
Draw another zig-zag pattern similar to the previous one on the right side to make it look realistic.
Complete the zig-zag and ensure that both zig-zag patterns are the same; otherwise, everything becomes messy.
We will draw the stairs from the bottom up, beginning with the lowest tread and working our way up to the topmost tread.
To begin, draw a diagonal parallelogram on your page’s lower left side. This serves as the first stair tread.
Don’t forget to draw a line between the step’s bottom and right edge. This provides depth to the treads, making them look three-dimensional and lifelike. Draw all stairs like this, as shown in the reference picture.
Outline the whole drawing of stairs with a black marker to make it look realistic.
This concludes our successful drawing of stairs! Now comes the most interesting phase: picking colors and painting the steps!
This is your chance to demonstrate your artistic abilities, especially color-blending ones. Stairs are available in various hues because they may be painted to match the homeowner’s preferences.
You may use whatever color you desire! We recommend adopting a contrasting color for the handrails and poles to make the steps more dynamic and colorful! Fill pink color in the side corner of the stairs drawing as shown in the reference image.
Fill multiple colors on the stairs to make them look pretty and realistic.
With these step-by-step stair sketching instructions, we hope you have a good time! Now that you can draw stairs, perhaps the next step is to depict the interior of a house with a staircase.
Once you have mastered how to draw stairs, the possibilities are unlimited. Please don’t be ashamed to show off your artwork; we’re certain it’s impressive.
